Mary and Jocelyn first worked together at the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1999, where Mary was leading the Centre’s Trauma Clinic and Jocelyn had her first post-qualification role in the trauma field.
They reconnected in London and have worked together in a specialist NHS trauma service for over a decade. Their own ongoing, extensive clinical experience informs the training and clinical support sessions whch they offer, creating safe, reflective spaces to faciltiate trauma-infomed ways of working with colleagues and service users.
Importantly, having had their own experiences of vicarious traumatisation and at times felt close to burnout, they bring insight and compassion to thinking with other professionals about how to sustain and resource themselves in their work and to build trauma-informed and resilient workplaces.
